The Story Behind the Song: “Dry Spell”

I think this was the first song I wrote with drop-D tuning on the guitar. It was written sometime before November 2000, and I feel like it has a bit of Soundgarden influence. I felt like I was having trouble writing the lyrics, i.e. I was having a dry spell creatively, so that became the title. Though I had played around with the alternate titles “You’re Blinded” and “In My Head,” and those got thrown in in the background at the end. I got a really fantastic feedback-laden sound out of my acoustic guitar for the middle section, but I was unfortunately not recording it, and never was able to recreate it again.
