I believe this was the first song I completed after Chameleon Red’s Skeleton Crew was released, in February of 2014, to be exact. In fact, it became a part of that band’s repertoire. I was at a place of great stress and change at the time, hence the lyrics exploring clarification of what I really needed, as separate from the manufactured needs of consumerism. I was, and remain, proud of the structure of the song’s arrangement, which was somewhat unusual without drawing attention to itself.
This was the second song I recorded in the Covid-19 isolation series, in May 2020; the video quickly followed. I got a little fancier with the green screen and used what I had learned to improve the overall video production.
