Coming Up

I thought it might be good to post an update about what’s going on in the mad scientist’s lab I call Van Hearlen IV Studio. I have a lot of long-range plans on music releases.

I’m still making videos for the New Heart album. The next one will be for “Paper Airplanes,” and it should be released in the next few weeks. I plan on making at least one more before year’s end.

Sometime around the end of this year or the beginning of the next, I will be re-releasing my sixth solo album, Machine Dream. This one originally came out way back in 1999, and it’s been re-vamped to an even greater extent than New Heart was. Blame my perfectionism. The first video I plan to release from that album is “Flying to the Moon,” and it will feature Mother Zephyr, a band I was in from 2009-2012.

I have also begun writing and recording songs for my next all-new studio album, which I have given the provisional title Number 9 since, well, it will be my ninth solo album. In fact, work is well underway, with a number of songs already completed. I may be able to release the album as soon as late next year.

And if all that wasn’t enough, I have transferred all my older solo albums from the original 4-track tape to digital. That’s five albums’ worth of material, folks. It’s my intention to pick all the songs I still think are worthy of hearing and either clean them up or re-record them. That’s a longer-term effort but definitely part of the future plan.

As always, I want to express my appreciate for all of you who listen to my music, watch my videos or even my occasional live appearance, and send so much support my way. It is very much appreciated.
